In 1984, Theresa came to know the Lord in a deeper way by attending a Catholic Charismatic prayer meeting. She started encouraging the youth to join prayer meetings and soon a group started to gather weekly. She was a delegate to the 1985 International Youth Consultation held in Rome. She had beautiful experiences when prayed over for the anointing of the Holy Spirit and received gifts of healing, prophecy, vision and discernment. She has been organizing and conducting Healing Services, Retreats, Conferences, Seminars, Night Vigils and Holy Hours, etc., in Karachi and elsewhere in the country. She works with a team and believes in sharing out the responsibilities with one another.
In 1985 she was also selected to be a member of the Diocesan Service Team and later a member of the National Service Team. This gave her more opportunities to attend different programs throughout the country. She shares God's love and faith experiences not only with Christians but with non-Christian too. In 1987 the NST members nominated her to be the Chairperson. For the first time the post of Chairperson was given to a lay person.
In 1988 she attended a course called "Joy of Discovery" (JOD)--at the Institute of Pastoral Development (IPD), Philippines, and an "Evangelization Course" the following year.
In 1991 she was selected to represent ICCRS to the sub-continent. Through letters, faxes and the telephone she has been in contact with the Renewal members in the sub-continent. She felt the need to bring all the Asian countries together in one place, and for the first time nine countries came together at the International Conference held in Karachi in 1992. At that conference they shared common points of interest and discussed on matters like the difficulties faced on the progress of the Renewal in their areas. In 1993 a Council was formed in the Philippines by the name of Catholic Charismatic Council for Asia Pacific (CCCAP). She was elected as a Council Member for CCCAP from Pakistan. In 1993 she attended the "Gospel Sharing" course conducted by IPD in Karachi.
Early in 1996, she invited Fr. Tardif to Karachi for a healing retreat with healing services. The result was excellent in the Church history of Pakistan. People from all religions, especially Muslims and Hindus, attended the services and received healing. She also invited a member from the school of evangelization to train 60 members as Evangelists to work all over Pakistan.
Besides, many non-Christians are attending the prayer meetings and healing services in Pakistan.
